SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: GREEN FASCISM

Sustainable development, a concept promoted as a panacea for man and the environment, is, in fact, for the sacrifice of man to the environment. This article shows that, despite promises to encourage development, it will actually guarantee universal misery. If it is implemented into law, an international super-government will usurp both the sovereignty of individual countries and the individual rights of their people. Dr. Sanford analyzes the two parts of the concept, the environmental and the economic, sustainability and development. He shows that the "sustainability" part of sustainable development essentially consists of the environmentalist notions that man is destroying nature and must sacrifice his values to save it. He demonstrates how the "development" part, supposedly intended to provide for man's progress, is in fact government control. With sustainable development, environmentalists have discarded both capitalism and socialism (including communism) and have embraced fascism. As their own inventory of controls testifies, the essence of sustainable development is the subordination of the individual to the power of the state. The pamphlet shows how sacrifice is an essential part of sustainable development and how a successful fight against this kind of tyranny must advocate objectivity, reason and man's rights.
